Mental Dosen by Magiro

You know when you get almost any Magiro item you are in for a clever method that will surprise and delight you.  The props are very simple looking, and yet without any funny moves at all you can always tell which can the coin is placed into.

There are no gimmicks and everything can be examined before and after and you can repeat it with a different outcome immediately. You don’t even have to touch the cans.  This was re-released as Can-Do by Hayakawa Magic here.

If you are looking for a clever mechanical method move along as you won’t find that here, but you will find pure Magiro brilliance that is always ready to work 🙂

Effect: Four small cans rest in a small recess on a paddle with a handle. Each of the cans has a different colored lid. The performer turns away. The spectator can now open each can, swap the lids and cans as desired, put a coin in a can, close all the cans again and put them back on the paddle. Each lid has a foam rubber glued into it to prevent the position of the coin from being revealed by any rattling noises.

The performer turns around again but doesn’t touch any of the cans. The performer briefly lifts the paddle to his forehead and then tosses the cans into a bag or the spectator’s open hands and reveals the location of the coin: “The coin is in the can with the blue lid!” The blue lid is unscrewed, and the coin is tipped out.
