Haunted Hand by Anverdi

(c. 1988) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

This is a variation of Anverdi’s Electronic Surprise Box using a cute little hand  🙂

It works perfectly and just uses two AA batteries.  The other thing I was impressed with this was how deep the deck of cards can go before the spectator’s card.  In tests I got to at least forty cards dealt, well that will cover every situation I can imagine.

I wasn’t happy with the routine (in Dutch) that I received with this so I created my own which is below, and now I love this little gem 🙂

Effect: The magician shows and shuffles a  deck of cards and has one card removed and returned to the deck.  The card chosen is a 100% free choice and different every time.  The magician then attempts to find the card and turns over a card – he is wrong.  The magician acts surprised and tries again.  He fails for the second time.

The magician explains this almost never happens but when it does, just like most people he could do with a helping hand.  He brings out a little box with a hand sticking out from the top and says: “Meet my helping hand.” 🙂

The magician lifts the hand vertically and opens up the lid and asks the spectator to place cards inside the box one by one.  The spectator does this and after about 20 cards the hand suddenly moves and closes the lid.  The magician asks the spectator to remind everyone what their card was (in this case the Ace of Hearts), and then turns up the card where he was stopped by the hand, and it turns out to be the Ace of Hearts.

Thank-you my Helping hand.
