RSVP Box Hero – Magneto (Lippincott Box) by Matthew Wright
(c. 2021) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)The RSVP Box Hero is a modern looking Lippincott Box that works very well. The Lippincott Box was originally called Quarter Go and was invented c. 1949 by Jack Lippincott and sold by Don Redmon, Max Holden and others.
The original RSVP Box was a much cheaper plastic box, but these Hero versions are much better quality and worthy of your act for sure. The Magneto has a stainless steel powder coated finish added to a strong solid aluminum body.
The one potentially controversial choice with the RSVP Box Hero is that even with the padlock on and the gimmick closed there is a way to quite easily get into the box. With most Lippincott boxes I have seen once it is closed there is NO WAY inside. This is not the case for this box – it certainly makes it easier to use and re-set but it does mean you need to hold on to the outside of the box if you want the audience to root around inside. Not sure if this really is a big deal because you probably need to be a magician to even think that way, but it is a choice made by Matthew Wright so that you can show the box from all sides before you have loaded it.
Effect: Remove, Switch Vanish or Produce…the RSVP HERO allows you to do it all.
RSVP Box is an amazing utility tool that can make any small object appear, vanish, and transform into another item. Here’s an absolute classic of magic reinvented for the modern performer. Available in three different eye-catching finishes, this solid aluminum box is extremely simple to use and comes with many routines suitable for walk around, close-up, parlor, and stage, including a variation of Matthew’s own stage routine.
With routines including cards, rings and money, RSVP Box really is suitable for all occasions. With over two hours of detailed instructions, no stone is left unturned. The box comes supplied with a specially gimmicked “under-cover” carry bag that allows for some never-before-possible “in the open” switches. The box is magnetically locking and can be handled by the spectator, who is also able to remove the object from inside the box themselves. No more need for funny switches and moves at the climax of the routine — the item in the box really is the item.
Each RSVP comes complete with box, stylish black padlock and gimmicked undercover bag.
With download instructions following on from the original plastic RSVP Box plus bonus handlings, the RSVP HERO is the go-to locking box for the professional performer.
