It is not quite as pretty as the beautiful Deluxe Ring Grinder released by my good friend George Robinson, but I slightly prefer Dave’s one due to it’s compact size. It is small, makes a great sound and has a rattle box feature (like George’s) that permits the ring to disappear whilst in their hands if so desired.
Effect: A spectators ring is borrowed and placed into a small box said to polish it to an unbelievable shine. The ring is heard to rattle in the box as it is shaken to seat the ring properly for cleaning. The spectator is asked to turn the crank to begin the process. Suddenly a clacking sound is heard as the magician says, oh no, you didn’t seat the ring properly, open the front door and dump it out we’ll start again.
The spectator opens the front door and finds the ring has been crushed into tiny pieces. The pieces are placed into a handkerchief and made to disappear. The ring is then found fully restored wherever the magician chooses, such as Lippincott Box, Delta Ring Box, Nest of Boxes or Lemon Box.

Andy Martin –
A Beautiful and Practical Ring Grinder
I love Dave Powell’s new Ring Grinder!
It is not quite as pretty as the beautiful Deluxe Ring Grinder released by my good friend George Robinson, but I slightly prefer Dave’s one. It is small, makes a great sound and has a rattle box feature (like George’s) that permits the ring to disappear whilst in their hands if so desired.
I’m not sure what Dave is drinking over in California but it is great to see him producing so much great quality and collectible magic. I know he is working on a new website so one can only assume in 2011 he will be continuing to create some wonderful magic!
Keep them coming Dave!
