Strat-O-Sphere by Mak Magic
(c. 1957) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)A classic kids effect created by U.F. Grant. The method uses a refinement to J.F. Orrin’s Up, Lift which you can read more about here.
Effect: You are supplied with a tall, clear plastic tube, a handsomely decorated metal cover for same, a wooden base, several different colored balls, about 2″ in diameter, and a large box with swinging doors at its front and rear. Although there is just room enough for these balls, one on top of the other, to fit the plastic tube, nevertheless, the ball placed – on top of the three, successively appears at the bottom and in the center of the three balls and for a climax, this migratory sphere is placed in the box, both doors are opened, you see through the box, and as quickly as you can say “Grantissimo” the ball has vanished from the box and appears in the plastic tube.
This is very colorful, well made, has eye appeal and is well recommended. This trick can be done immediately as it requires no sleights or intricate moves.

Classic Kids item
A classic made by Mak Magic. Bought mine used, be careful as older models can have rust on the outer tubes inside seam and the plastic inside tube becomes brittle with age. Be sure to checkout Sammy Smiths’ use of this item. "Ball Brothers’ Traveling Circus" – This routine can be found in his book "Big Laughs for Little People"
