Dart Prediction by Harries

(c. 1987) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

This effect was created by the Swedish Amateur Mentalist and Stage Magician Goran Klyve in 1987. Goran started working for Harries in 1985 and has created a number of effects for Harries.

Harries of Sweden make some great magic props for Parlor and Stage. Their quality is not that of Milson-Worth or Michael Baker but they fall in line with other premium brand European manufacturers such as: Magic Hands and Mephisto-Huis and have consistently produced great magic.

This effect uses large props suitable for parlor or a small stage and allows for the very clean prediction of a number that is chosen by the spectator throwing a dart at the board. Plenty of byplay opportunity with the dart (it is a real dart) and the work is all done by the props. It even allows for a different outcome for repeat performances. They simply throw the dart and you turn around the card at the number they hit, and it is the same as the card in the prediction envelope – which can be held and opened by a member of the audience.

This is a great effect but it is a large prop and so remember it is not really designed for close-up.

Effect: A real fooler from Harries Magic of Sweden! For those of you who have dreamed about owning the perfect prediction trick – Stop Dreaming. Dart Prediction is it! A mental effect done by the wish of the spectator with no suspicion of outside influence! Can you imagine anything more clean and open than to let the spectator throw a dart to choose a card? This is exactly what happens in this routine.

Show an elegant stand with a dartboard and four Jumbo Cards with their backs towards the audience.Hand an envelope containing your prediction to a spectator, they hold the envelope throughout the routine.

A second spectator throws the dart at the board. The number they hit corresponds to one of the four cards. They can throw the dart as many times as they like. When they are finally happy with the number, that is the card that is used. Simple and straightforward.

The chosen card is turned around and placed on the stand. A large colored dot shows on the face of the card. Let’s say it’s blue. (Of course, the other cards are shown to have different colored dots.) The first spectator opens the envelope and removes the prediction. The color predicted exactly matches the card the spectator chose!

You have correctly predicted where on the dartboard the spectator will toss the dart!

Features:

  • Dart Prediction can be repeated, and the chosen color will be different!
  • A beautiful set of props; the 22″ x 23″ stand makes a very striking appearance on stage.
  • A wonderful routine; perfect for anyone who does mental magic.
  • Easy to do; the props do all the work for you.
  • Breaks down for packing.
