Hindu Water Vase (Lota Bowl) by Viking Mfg.

(c. 1978) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

A parlor version of the classic Lota effect with roots to Bengali magicians in the early 17th century.

Viking magic has reworked this classic and turned it into a beautiful hand spun and polished vase in gleaming brass; 6″ tall.

Effect: An elegant brass vase is displayed full of water, which is poured out into a bucket or other receptacle. The vase is shown unmistakably empty, yet within a few minutes the vase is tipped over again. Again, it is seen to be full of water! The magician performs a few more effects, then notices that it is time for the Flowing Water of the Ganges and pours out yet more water from the ‘empty’ vase. This can go on for many, many more pours creating a running gag that will have your audience in stitches.
