Thumb Cuffs were invented c. 1888 by Frank McDonald of Boise, Idaho as a police restraint. They have been used by magicians and escapists including Houdini of course ever since.

Effect: Once used by Law Enforcement, now banned because of their cruel nature. Thumb Cuffs have been an integral part of the Escape Artists repertoire. If you don’t know the secret, it is virtually impossible to escape from these cuffs.

Made of steel, chrome plated.

The performer is locked into the cuffs, yet he is able to free himself within seconds. can be performed with an element of comedy, as the performer releases on hand but then when checked is till securely locked in place, finally releasing himself completely.

Supplied with vinyl carrying case and complete instructions. Great for In-And-Out type of routine.
