This beautifully clever checker penetration was invented by U.F. Grant c. 1954 and if you are familiar with other approaches this one will certainly fool you. I know I was not expecting the props and the moves. This is the Mak Magic version c. 1981.
If you have not seen this beauty before you are in for a real treat and a genuine surprise. When it comes to collecting magic those are the best kind 🙂
Effect: Six large wooden checkers, two metal cylinders, just large enough to hold the checkers are used, along with a square of glass.
BOTH CYLINDERS ARE SHOWN EMPTY AT THE SAME TIME!! A Sheet of glass is placed on top of one cylinder. The other cylinder is placed on top of that, as pictured. “BANDLERO” (Or what ever the magic word is) and ………. THE SIX CHECKERS PENETRATE THE GLASS AND CLATTER OUT THE BOTTOM TUBE. Again, both cylinders are shown empty, and at the same time.
This is not the usual BLOCK-GO method with all the extra moves necessary. In Penta Checkers, all moves, the few there are, are done slowly. The trick just happens all at once.
