Gorden’s Silk in Balloon by Magic Hands, Tannen’s

There were two versions of this item released – version I (this one) which allowed one balloon to appear and version II which allowed two balloons to appear. Both of these are designed to work with Super Silk Pistol by Magic Hands.

I did not have much luck getting this to work but that was probably due to the age of the balloons since this item was released in 1976.

Effect: At our last Jubilee, we had the honor of introducing Gorden and Eve Thum representing their fine studio of magic, called “The Magic Hands.” In their stage act, which is probably one of the most colorful and unique combinations of ideas that we have ever had the pleasure of witnessing, was Gorden’s amazing version of the unbelievable “Silk In Balloon.”

A large, inflated balloon is shown to be quite empty. The balloon is made of an almost-transparent material. Now a silk is caused to vanish and before you can blink your eye, it is seen to be inside the balloon. Is that amazing? Astounding? You haven’t seen anything yet! For it appears that the silk is half inside the balloon, the other half outside the balloon. Not through the mouth of the balloon, but through the side! This is truly an impossibility, but you aren’t through yet. Now you grasp a corner of the silk, and slowly, you pull it completely out of the balloon, leaving the balloon intact, and the silk in your hand, ready to be used for your next trick
