Here we have another great item from Max Krause at Innovative Deceptions! Max’s magic for the most part involves simple principles applied to sure-fire magic – this is magic you will use and will work for you 100% of the time.

When I first read the method for this item I thought: that is a neat idea, but maybe not as strong as some of his other items. However, if you bother to read further into the instructions you’ll quickly realize that in fact it is a beautiful idea – very simple in method, but with Max’s routine the method become invisible and you are left with a very strong effect. In fact, it is perfect to lead into something like his incredible Impromptu Supreme Serial Killer: in the first you show how you are sensitive to them lying and then you take it to the next level and actually read their mind. I love it!

Effect: The magician asks the spectators to participate in an experiment explaining that he has been working on his skills as a human lie detector. He asks for change of a $5 dollar bill or pulls out a hand full of bills and hands them to a spectator to select one. The spectator chooses a bill and the magician returns the remainder of the bills to his pocket or wallet. The magician then explains that he is going to ask the spectator a series of questions and based on the spectators reactions will let them know if they are lying or telling the truth.

He explains that they are going to tell him the serial number one character at a time. The spectator announces each character and true to his word the magician is able to discern the difference between fact and fiction exposing every lie the spectator tells!
