Mystic Three by Gil Leaney

Effect: A pack of cards is given to a Spectator who first satisfies himself that they are quite ordinary, and then gives them a thorough shuffle. Performer now draws attention to a Sealed Envelope (which remains in Full View throughout), also a neat stand which is divided into three different colored sections, each having a card clip. 9 Cards are now taken from the shuffled pack and 3 cards are placed in clip, on each of the three different colored sections.

Any spectator is asked to name any color . . Please note: No force of any kind is used … The cards in the selected Section remain on the board, while the others are discarded. Now, the three cards are re-distributed so that there is one in each of the colored sections. Again spectator names any color.

NOW MARK THIS:  Magician TURNS the other two cards FACE to audience . . leaving selected card back outwards. He remarks . . “You could have chosen either of these two cards (indicating face-out cards), but you preferred this one . . the identity of which we still do not know.” The sealed envelope is now opened . . inside it is another envelope . . and inside this, spectator finds yet another envelope, containing a visiting card.

He reads aloud what is written on it. ” I, (magician’s name) on (the date) at the (name of the place of performance) aided by the power of the ‘ Mystic Three’ predict, that the selected card will be . . (name of card).” The card on the board is now turned around it is the SAME !

Remember:

• ANY one of the three cards may be chosen
• They are all different.
• NO sleight of hand.
• ENVELOPE is in full view at all times.
• No carbons or thumb-writers.
• NOT just a ” oncer” or “twicer” . . EVERY time you do it . . THE CARDS ARE DIFFERENT!
• YOU CAN DO IT RIGHT AWAY!
• Complete with Routine and Patter.
