Dr. Q Spirit Hand (Early) by Owen Magic Supreme

Owen’s consistently produced some of the most amazing magic for over 100 years from small pocket tricks to large stage sized illusions they are always held up as the standard to beat.

I’ve always loved the Spirit Hand effect and although I’ve tried a few the best ones come from Thayer Quality Magic and Owen Magic Supreme. The key to this effect is it has to look authentic.  The props, the mechanism and the movement.  The early Owen versions look better than the later boards from Owen’s because the board isn’t as  quite as fancy and new.

This board just looks perfect, with just the right amount of distress and it works perfectly.  The board is clean and nothing is added or taken away, and yet the hand raps on demand.

If you ever wanted to perform some sort of seance or communicate with the other side, this is the tool to use. Highly Recommended!

(Notice: this board is meant to have a locking mechanism such that you can minutely examine the board if desired.  However, the locking mechanism does not work on this set.  Personally I have never used the lock in performance and as long as you don’t leave the board in their hands for an extended period of time it is unlikely they will ever notice the gimmick.  Even without the lock it is difficult to detect.)

Effect: A beautiful hand, while resting upon a plain wooden board, raps answers to questions. It is worked without the use of threads, wires, magnets, electrical or balancing devices of any sort, and yet it is so simple and reliable that a child can operate it.

Worked in the midst of the audience it will answer any desired amount of questions, yet at any time the hand may be removed from the board either by yourself or a spectator. Upon being replaced the raps will continue as before, a feature that no other talking hand effect in the world will do.

This effect has had more than its share of so-called imitations, but the fact remains that we alone are able to supply the true and correct form of our original perfected model.

A rare and wonderful outfit which, with reasonable care, will last a life-time. Being mechanically perfect, it is beautiful beyond description.
