Caper Case by Ray Piatt

Effect: Here’s a handy pocket item which not only is a terrific mental effect but also serves as a valuable adjunct for future dates as a performing mentalist.

You are furnished with a folding card case – just large enough to hold several business calling cards. It is entirely hand-crafted in genuine black pigskin leather with interior pockets on both sides of its interior. Your initials appear on one corner of its outside and each one ordered is made personally for the purchaser. There is also a transparent plastic compartment upon its outside displaying your cards.

Mentalist withdraws one of the cards from one of the inside pockets of the case and invites spectator to write or draw a word, number symbol, etc. on the blanks side of your card, which is then inserted inside among the other cards, of course keeping the written side hidden.

Performer closes the case and either raises the case to his forehead or places it in his pocket. He then reveals the hidden writing.

No sleights, no carbons are used. It is self-working. The card could be printed with information in reference to future engagements as it can be removed from the case and presents to the participant.
