Aunt Clara’s Prediction by Lee Woodside

Simple but very Convincing and Entertaining! Lee Woodside has some nice ideas and this one is no exception. It is a straight forward prediction of a freely chosen playing card using an ungimmicked tape recorder, with a wonderful line of patter. Great entertainment potential. I like this one!

Effect: The Performer produces a tape recorder and a cassette tape. The Performer states that his Aunt Clara ( Clara Voyant, this is) has tape recorded a prediction for the experiment that is about to be conducted. The tape is placed on the table and left in plain sight for the audience to observe. A deck of cards is produced and spread face up showing it to be quite ordinary. A volunteer is invited to deal cards FACE UP into the Performers hand, one at a time, and to stop whenever he/she wishes to do so (no force). When the volunteer stops at a card, the tape is played and of course Aunt Clara’s prediction MATCHES EXACTLY!

Points to remember:

• Volunteer deals the cards into the Performers hand FACE UP and stops whenever they wish to do so,
• cassette tape is not switched,
• tape recorder is not gimmicked,
• no sleights,
• can be repeated and Aunt Clara’s prediction will MATCH EXACTLY!
