Astral Dial (Astraluhr) by Tony Lackner

Here is a rare beauty from the amazing Tony Lackner long unavailable. The German Magic Dealer, Joe Wildon (yes of Wandering Mummy fame) sold a small run of an item similar to this c. 1961, but it wasn’t until Tony Lackner looked at it that it became fully fleshed out.

It is Tony’s version of the Spirit Clock Dial and uses a very different method which is simpler, cleaner and allows everything to be examined before and after.

What is also neat is that it comes with numbers and astrological symbols so can be used in many more routines. Whenever you what to force or predict one of 12 items Astral Dial is your answer. It is also smaller and more portable than most Spirit Clock Dials.

Effect: The magician displays a clear plastic disc with large numbers or astrological signs printed on the face. The dial is spun a number of times to show that it ends up at different locations, but when the magician is ready he can predict every time at which number or sign it will end up on.
