Jumbo Balloon Wand by Chance Wolf
(c. 2003) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)When looking at Card in Balloon effects it is important to distinguish between the Comedy Card in Balloon effect (epitomized by Warren Stephens with a tray and three balloons) and the more straight forward Card in Balloon effect (epitomized by Hathaway). Chance’s versions fall squarely in the Comedy camp!
This is the third item I have I received from Wolf’s Magic. As with the others, it is beautifully made and very functional. It took me about 30 minutes to try this out including opening the well packaged box.
The instructions are bright and very clear and on the very first attempt of trying this effect all the balloons worked exactly the way they should. For a Comedy Card in Balloon effect type of effect this is almost unheard of. In the past different versions that I’ve owned have required quite a lot of tweaking to get the balloons to pop and blow away on cue. Not so with this. Chance has clearly thought through the usability aspects of this effect.
Unlike his previous two items this effect does not have quite the same unique, zany routine but it still is a wonderful prop with all the fun of any other Balloon Wand. The set-up is very easy and the props very solid. What I like about the Wolf’s Magic line I have seen so far is that not only are the props beautifully made, very colorful, and uniquely designed – they actually can be used by real performers for real shows.
Effect: Based on the Balloon Tray by Warren Stephens
We’ve given the Ol’ Balloon Tray a Wacky Wolf FACE-LIFT and recreated it as a Jumbo Wand! We added the use of a deck of JUMBO CARDS for Maximum Viewing from your audience! This is the same routine as the Original effect. Spectator selects a card, card is lost in the deck and deck is placed into Houllette. The Wand, with HOULETTE ATTACHED, is lifted from the “Hand-Stand” . Facing the audience, magician offers the spectator a FREE CHOICE of ANY of the THREE Balloons and states that the card will magically appear in the chosen Balloon. Before the spectator can make a decision, one Balloon SLOWLY DEFLATES. ( Laughter) Magician continues offering a FREE CHOICE of ANY of the..er..TWO BALLOONS and the Card will magical….PLBLBLBLBT!! The Second Balloon FLIES OFF the WAND! (More laughter) Magician continues…er…ok…you have a free choice of THIS balloon. Spectator of course chooses this Balloon and POP!! the balloon explodes and the JUMBO CARD APPEARS!! Solid Mechanics and absolutely NO HAND MOTION is detected when triggering each gimmick!
Even comes with a JUMBO DECK of CARDS!!
This routine is a Classic Guaranteeing Plenty of LAUGHS!

Workable and Beautiful Props!

For a balloon wand/table type effect this is almost unheard of. Every effect I’ve owned up until now has required quite a lot of tweaking to get the balloons to pop and blow away on cue. Not so with this. Chance has clearly thought through the usability aspects of this effect.
Unlike his previous two items this effect does not have quite the same unique, zany routine but it still is a wonderful prop with all the fun of any other Balloon Wand. The set-up is very easy and the props very solid.
What I like about the Wolf’s Magic line I have seen so far is that not only are the props beautifully made, very colorful, and uniquely designed – they actually can be used by real performers for real shows. This is sadly not something I can say about a lot of higher end collectable props.
Wolf’s Magic is certainly turning a few heads in the magic Industry, and about time too – this is the way magic should be built and operate. Highly recommended!

Fantastic
OK. This was my first product I bought from Wolfsmagic, after that prop I became a Wolf fan.
It was fantastic packed so nothing got broken during the long shipping to Germany.
The prop is well done, I never saw a item like this before.
The effect works well for children and adults.
