Finger Stretcher by Abbott’s, Myron Scott

(c. 1948) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

Effect: Here’s a cutie. What next? Why not? A machine to stretch your hand and fingers six inches. Can’t be done? Well, that’s what the machine registers!

This stretcher has two openings, one for the thumb which is clamped into position, and one for any one of the four fingers. Slowly the stretcher is operated and spectators actually see fingers pulled out 1 inch — then 2 inches — three, four and five inches and then to the full six inches. Does it look funny? Yes, indeed — and wonderful too! You say you had to undergo this treatment to become a Magician. Slowly the operation is reversed and the fingers are brought back to normal. Both back and front of machine shown before and after the stretch. In fact, the apparatus is given for examination.

This is made from the original model devised by Myron Scott and Abbott’s purchased the manufacturing rights. It’s well made and attractive apparatus.

    This is funny!

This is not meant to be a huge illusion, but has great entertainment potential as a bit of filler in almost any act. The finger stretcher is used to see how much magical dexterity you have. If you can go all the way to six inches you are the best!

Some of these old ideas can certainly take you places!
