A Ring For Mrs. Claus by Michael Baker

Here is a very different set of next of boxes from Michael Baker.  The boxes are 100% ungimmicked  and there is nothing added or taken away.  However, Michael has created a clever and unique way to  get the ring to appear inside the inner most box, without any tricky moves except for the initial vanish (using your favorite method). In fact, everything is in plain sight and Michael’s clever use of these boxes allows for this cute miracle for children, with a wonderful story line to boot.

This may not get you too excited if you collect more exotic Nest of Boxes but I think you will impressed with the unique idea Michael has created for the load.

Notice: Does not include the Ring Vanish box or Ring.

Effect: On display is a small Christmas house. It is tied closed with a ribbon. The house is shown all around. A finger ring is borrowed and ultimately vanished. The ribbon is untied and the roof of the house opened. Inside is another Christmas house, also tied closed.

This continues with a total of FOUR houses being discovered, one within another. Finally, the smallest house is opened, and with empty hand, the magician reaches in and produces a small stuffed puppy, wearing a Santa hat! Tied to the puppy is another short ribbon, and attached to the free end of the ribbon is the borrowed ring!

Routine: Santa wanted to buy a gift for Mrs. Claus, and he decided upon a beautiful ring. He placed the ring in a safe place but when he went back to get it, it was missing!

Frantically, he looked everywhere, and finally asked the elves if they had seen it. One of the elves started to blush and said he did not realize the ring was going to be a gift for Mrs. Santa, but that he knew it was safe. Santa was a bit concerned but asked how the elf could be sure the ring was safe. The elf said, “Because I gave it to my puppy!”

Santa was now completely depressed. But all the elves said, “It’s OK Santa. We know this puppy and he is the best puppy in the world!” They then told Santa to look inside the house. Well, when Santa opened the house, inside he found … another house! Well, he opened this house, and inside, he found … ANOTHER house! So he opened this house and he found ANOTHER HOUSE, and inside there, he found yet ANOTHER HOUSE!!!

Somewhat exasperated, he looked at the elves, who were all smiling. So, Santa opened this house and looked inside and found … THE PUPPY!!! The puppy had a leash and attached to the leash was, THE RING FOR MRS. CLAUS!!! The puppy had been guarding it the whole time!

Hooray!!! The day has been saved! The ring is safe and Mrs Claus is going to have a wonderful present this year!
