Zig Zag Coin (Brass) by Mark Teufel

Every effect has a beginning and this is the first version of Mark Teufel’s now famous Zig Zag Coin.  This particular version is the one Mark used to demonstrate at the Magic Castle during his early stages of making the effect.  It is brass only and not finished as well as his Snakewood exterior versions. But the mechanism is the same and this effect is just as amazing to the spectator, and if you are a collector these are even rarer than his wooden ones.

Effect: A Kennedy half dollar is placed into a thin brass holder and strapped in with a brass bar. The coin is immediately zig-zagged so that it’s split into three separate pieces! The pieces of the coin may be dumped out and examined. They’re placed back into the cabinet. The center piece is now slid back, visibly restoring the coin! The cabinet is opened and the coin passed for examination.
