Wishes and Dreams by Wild Magic

This is not a new idea but it is a nice routine and if you like poems and stories you’ll probably love this, and so will your audience.

It is very simple to do and requires two cards to be forced. but what makes it interesting is they have a completely free choice of where they place the tokens and they can change their mind all the way up until the final reveal.

Effect: The magician displays two tokens, one a heart and the other a star. Also in full view on the table is a closed plastic wallet. Two spectators are asked to select a card each and place them face down on the table without looking at them and also without the magician seeing them.

The spectators are then asked to select a token each and place those tokens upon their chosen cards, they are allowed to swap tokens with each other if they wish. The magician then picks up the wallet and reaching inside brings out two different playing cards. One of the cards has the shape of a heart cut into it and the other a star.

The spectators are then asked to turn their cards face up and they are amazed to find that not only do their cards match those of the magician but that the token they selected for their card matches the cut-out on the magicians prediction. All of this accompanied by a delightful story!
