The Ring Tower by Wolfgang Grosskopf

(c. 1974) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

A really wonderful impossible vanish from the clever mind of Wolfgang Grosskopf.  This is the original version that Wolfgang created c. 1974 and it even has his hallmark “WG” on the base.  This tower is much more detailed than the later ones released by Vienna Magic.

The other thing that is interesting about this original version is the routine is different – instead of a ring penetration, as the later ones were billed as, this is a ring vanish and reproduction from impossible location.  You could do either but I actually prefer the presentation where the ring just completely vanishes and is found somewhere else as I think it gives less clues as to what possibly could have happened.

Includes:

Effect: This is the kind of effect that will even fool yourself! You’ll do it, and you won’t believe your eyes! Borrow a ring and place it under a clear Plexiglas cover, as shown in the photo. The ring, trapped under the clear plastic, is covered with the Magic Tower. The top of the tower is removed to show the ring still inside the plastic box. The tower top is replaced. A small magic wand is pushed through the sides of the tower, well above the ring and plastic box.

When the tower is removed, the ring has vanished! The crystal box is empty! The wand is removed and the tower is also shown to be empty and the ring is found in some other safe place (use your favorite method, but this RSVP Hero box is perfect.)

Basic Routine: Introduce this tower as the home of the famous magician Fitzpuzzli. His treasure is an ancient ring which is believed to have magical powers. To safeguard it, the ring is kept under a reinforced glass case and secured by magic using a special magic wand .

One day there was a lot of action in the tower because the ring had disappeared, but Fitzpuzzli was not concerned because he had magically transported it to an even more secure location.

Completely mechanical.  No threads; no magnets. The method will delight you, for sure. Easy to do.
