The Omega Exchange (Brazilian Rosewood) by Phantom Magic, Joe Litvinchuk

(c. 2010) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

These boxes are meticulously hand made in very limited numbers by Creator Joe Litvinchuk, the custom home builder from Pleasanton, California, using a rare Brazilian Rosewood. Joe became interested in magic at the age of nine, and after over 35 years in the construction industry decided to begin Phantom Magic c. 2010 where he created a fine line of high-end magic for the discerning Magic collector and Professional magician.

Each box is polished to bring out the rich, natural beauty of the Rosewood. They are really stunning to look and at about half the size of the Mystery Box (See final two photos for comparison). They are much more finely made with a very different mechanism to the Mystery Box which allows for a very convincing almost visual exchange.  From an engineering perspective these are streets ahead, but I’m not yet convinced I prefer the effect, need to spend time with this one to see.  Either way a beautiful box.

This version was the rarer and more expensive of the two versions released – the other one was made from Padauk which you can see in the advert on this page.  The box is incredibly smooth and flawless.

Effect: THE SET UP: The magician removes & unfolds a blank faced card [A] from the ring box; then re-folds the card & places it back into the empty ring box which is left open as it is set on a table off to one side (card [A] can be seen at all times). Next, the magician, after removing a deck of cards from its case, has a spectator select & sign any card [B]. The signed card [B] is folded into eighths & placed into the empty card case. With the lid closed, the card case is shaken so the card [B] can be heard rattling inside. Then it’s placed on the table away from the ring box.

THE BUILD UP: The magician picks up the ring box with the blank faced card [A] still exposed & shakes it out of the ring box, into his or her own empty hand. The spectator takes the blank faced card [A] from the magician, holds it tightly in a closed fist & waves it over the card case.

THE REVEAL: Magically, the blank faced card [A] appears in the closed card case & the spectator is now found holding their signed card [B]. the cards have exchanged places!

  • The Omega Box is FULLY EXAMINABLE
  • Absolutely for the professional magician
  • Instant reset; great for table hopping
  • Close-up routine for maximum impact
  • No secret ‘Mercury Fold’ required
