The Lippinkito by Douglas-Wayne Illusioneering
(c. 1993,2005) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)The Okito Coin Box was invented by Dutch Magician Okito (Theo Bamberg) c. 1909. The Lippincott Coin Box was invented by Jack Lippincott c. 1949. Two classic props for coins and over the years 100’s if not 1000’s of versions have been created.
The Lippinkito was created by Douglas-Wayne Illusioneering c. 1993. I don’t believe this is the original one but one created later, but it is clearly very similar.
Effect: A small brass OKITO box and small wooden chest are shown for examination. Any two coins are borrowed with one being marked with the spectator’s initials, The unmarked coin is placed inside the OKITO box which is then double- locked inside the wooden chest. The magician then takes the marked coin in hand and places it just over the wooden chest.
With a flash of the hand the marked coin instantly changes into the coin double-locked in the two boxes. When the two boxes are unlocked inside is found the MARKED COIN!
