Spin Gone by Howard Schwarzman, Lubor Fiedler

(c. 1975,1980) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

This effect was invented by Lubor Fiedler, and was sold by Tannen’s c. 1975 and probably Supreme Magic in England around the same time. It was later imported in the Howard Schwarzman Limited Editions series.

Effect: A card effect for parlor or stage, this is visible even at a great distance. A black 12″ in length is placed thru center of a colorful disc 9″ in diameter’. Then a stack of playing cards (each having a hole in it)is placed on the rod. The magician begins to spin the disc and gradually the cards vanish, one at a time, until they are all gone! They just seem to melt into the disc! The disc is removed from the rod and shown back and front. The cards have totally disappeared! A brand new principal is used very ‘cleverly to startling effect.

This is a Lubor Fiedler creation that was sold by Supreme and later imported by Howie Schwarzman. You put a stack of cards on top of a plastic disc which is resting on your thumb. As you slowly spin the disc, every card visually melts through to the other side and is still attached to your thumb. It’s not suitable for closeup; more suited to the parlor room. It’s very… very clever.
