Psy -Spy Box (It Knows) by Kent Bergmann

Effect: A stylish decorated wooden box containing four different colored checks is presented.

This storied routine describes how the performer had acquired this mysterious box and how he had discovered its powerful secrets. By retelling the story, the spectator is put in the performers shoes by going through each of his steps as described in the performer’s story in discovering the powers of the wonderful box.

The performer removes the lid of the box to reveal four checks with different colors on them. The performer explains how he was possessed and how it consumed all of his time in figuring out the mystery of the box and why it contained these four different colored checks. Then he explains that he did indeed, finally, discover the mystery of the box. The mysterious box is very magical in that . . . “it knows”. This mysterious box knows what you will do before you do it, it is psychic.

The spectator selects one of the colored checks and when the performer opens the box and removed the wooden check holder, the box displays the exact same color as the color on the check chosen by the spectator. The spectator is then asked to select another colored check, this time blindly by placing the checks up-side-down and selecting one. It knows . . . when the lid is removed, the box displays, once again, the exact same color selected by the spectator (which is different than the first chosen color). . . . “It Knows!”

The stylish box, lid, checks and checks tray are all handcrafted in zebrawood and the lid decoration is created from wenge all with a natural, oil-rubbed finish. The box with the decorated lid on it measures approximately 1.75” x 2.75” x 2.75”. The checks each measure approximately 1.5” x 1” x .125”.
