Mysterious Paddle Set by Mike Rose

Mike Rose creates some great small run, custom items and I just picked-up his latest releases.  This one is his Mysterious Paddle Set which includes five different paddles made from solid cherry wood.

The five paddle routines are detailed very clearly on high quality, photo-illustrated instruction sheets that could easily be part of book which is a nice change from the abundance of online instructions these days.

These paddles are not mechanical like some of the amazing Joe Porper ones but the routines are quite fun and different and Mike gets a lot out of some simple ideas.  Also the paddle motion is very smooth and they are perfectly sized and roll very easily in your fingers.   Mike spent time devising some of the cleanest and most entertaining routines you can do with well crafted wooden paddles.

I think you might find a little more here than you expect.  I could certainly see these also being used with other items to enhance some otherwise basic effects and if you did that you could really create some miracles 🙂

Effect: The Mysterious Paddle set is actually FIVE separate magic tricks. Each paddle performs a unique magic effect on its own. The five paddles are custom made from solid cherry wood and the artwork is laser engraved into the wood (NOT stickers or paint, but engraved!). All five paddles have a clear protective finish, and will stand up to years of use.

The five paddles that are included in the set as shown in the photos:

• “Magic Mix” Scrambled letters instantly rearrange to form the word “Magic.”
• “ON Paddle” Magical wordplay where the word “ON” becomes “NO” (meaning not on) and them changes to “OFF.”
• “Two Cents” Engraved pennies vanish from the paddle and real pennies appear in the magician’s hand.
• “15 Paddle” The numbers 6 and 9 magically total to become 15.
• “Card Change” A card is selected but the prediction on the paddle is slightly wrong. The card on the paddle changes to match the selection.

You receive all FIVE paddles custom made from solid cherry, a velvet pouch for transporting the paddles and of course the secret instructions that teach you how to perform all five paddle tricks. Made in limited quantities.
