Money Cups (Cash Cups) by Daytona Magic, Ali Bongo

This effect was originally called Cash Cups and it was invented by Ali Bongo c. 1947 and released by Zaharee (Roy Baker aka Geoff R. Hursell).

Effect: This complete one-man presentation of apparent thought reading can be done without confederates. A spectator is handed a small wooden board and three wooden cups. He is asked to take a dollar from his wallet, fold it and place it under one of the cups. You, the magician or mentalist, have had your back turned throughout and yet can tell the spectator which cup his dollar is under. A further climax comes when the spectator is asked to concentrate on the serial number of his dollar bill before he puts it away. Slowly the performer is able to call off the entire serial number.
