Miser’s Dream Box and Collectors’ Workshop ShWand by Louis Gaynor

From Master Craftsman Louie Gaynor comes a close-up version of the Misers Dream! The Miser’s Dream Box is a unique effect. Each and every box is a pain-staking labor of love, which requires eight hours of work and 28 individual pieces to assemble. Each box is constructed from the finest hardwoods – and no two boxes are exactly alike.

This version also comes with a custom gimmicked Collectors’ Workshop ShWand (that I purchased and gimmicked just for this effect) as shown in the photo. In my opinion the ShWand is a much better wand than the one provided by Louis Gaynor in his 2013 release of this effect as can be seen here. As Louie realized in 2013 using a wand is a far better way to perform the effect. The ShWand is beautifully crafted and also doubles as a Sharpie which is used to make a prediction of the two cards.

Each box is engineered with amazing repulsion technology that will allow you to perform a myriad of routines that will work either on their own, or as the perfect accessory to the famous and recently re-popularized Misers Dream thanks to my performance in the Porcupine 🙂

Below is my routine, which adds the selection of two cards and predictions into the mix to keep things interesting.  Of course you could make up your own routine too.

• Sharpie Pen and supply of blank business cards (bonus).
• Instructions

Effect: The performer opens the box showing it empty and dumps it open running a small wand inside  to prove nothing is inside. He closes the lid and using the wand makes two predictions which he places in front of the spectators at the beginning.  He then has two cards chosen from a normal deck of cards (these are forced).  The cards are placed beneath the box face down and the magician waves the wand at the box saying their cards will appear in the box.

The box is rattled and out is tipped a gold looking coin – but no cards.  The magician is not concerned and tries three more times – each time the magician gets a little more frustrated. (Any four quarter sized coins can be used.)

When the fourth gold coin is produced the magician decides he can’t rely on the box any more and decides to show his predictions – they match the chosen cards perfectly. He shows the box empty one more time and apologizes that he could not produce them inside the box and as he places the box down he shakes it one more time and hears some coins rattle.

As a finale he tips them out and four larger half dollars are found and this time the two chosen cards have been printed as miniature cards on the coins.  The magician smiles and takes his well earned applause 🙂

• Each coin(s) really do appear “inside” the box!
• There are no fake moves or coin manipulations of any type – the box does all the work!
• These are genuine coins that can be examined.
• Other coins can be used (as long as they are not larger then a US Quarter or Half-Dollar.
• After “each” production, you can show the box totally empty!
• Features a unique, never before seen gimmick.
• Each box is constructed with 28 individual pieces, strategically engineered.
