Mini Phantom by Magic Wagon

(c. 2013) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

A Wonderful Take on a Beloved Effect. Every collector loves the Blue Phantom. Magic Wagon themselves produced a memorable version of this classic back in 2009.  And here they produce a new classic: the Mini Phantom.

Although the effect is very similar it works quite differently and is a more open, in your face, method and presentation. Just as with the original the odd colored chip rises one by one. This item looks amazing and is very solidly made. I could see this getting a lot of use.

Just great magic from these Magic Wagon cats. I always look forward to the next shipment. In fact with the exception of packages from my good friend Alan Warner, there is no other manufacturer I look forward to more.

If you like this effect you should check-out Liebenow’s Chip Lift which is a similar effect.

Effect: This is essentially a miniature illusion; kind of like the classic Blue Phantom with Casino Chips, but even better!

A small pedestal, a brass tube with a lid and seven poker chips, six black and one red are displayed. The performer shows the tube empty and then spreads the chips on the table showing them to be solid and separate chips. He then places the stack of poker chips into the tube with the red one at the bottom and then places the lid on. He then snaps his fingers and lifts off the tube, and the red chip is now seen to be second from the bottom of the stack! This is repeated until the red chip mysteriously rises all the way to the top!

Please note that the casino chips can be shown to be all solid and separate immediately after each and every transposition!

This is a great effect with a clever method which of course is completely mechanical in operation.

Mini Phantom measures approximately 8.5cms square by 7.5cms high and is completely hand-crafted using natural aged teak wood and metal with an antique brass finish.

There are some copycats in the world unfortunately to this Magic Wagon piece and to Simon’s performance. I feel bad because I have actually owned them. Let me say this right now, my copycats bought overseas by 3D printing plastic are no comparison in the world to this piece. I am lucky enough to own one and alI can tell you, is the Magic Wagon piece actually worth it and yes, it is. It is a has a more solid, heavier feel to it.

It is very hard to explain a feeling with magic, but this piece of magic has a solid definition to it. To me, after having the others, there is no comparison. It is a great piece of magic art created by Magic Wagon. They come along rarely, but get one if one comes up for sale for your collection of Magic Wagon items, get it. You won’t regret it!
