Mini Diceolation (3rd Degree Psychic) by Magic Wagon, John M. Talbot, Viking Mfg., Tony Curtis

If you actually want to perform to lay people in almost any situation and really fool them this is one of the very best items ever produced by Magic Wagon. It is created in conjunction with John M. Talbot, Viking Mfg., and Tony Curtis.

Although many Magic Wagon collectors rave about the original Diceolation to my mind it is a lot of prop for a pretty simple one off effect which just doesn’t get me that excited. But what I love about John M. Talbot’s routine 3rd Degree Psychic, that comes with this effect, is that it is a three phase routine that builds all the way to the end, and is done with much smaller props that can be held by the spectator, instantly reset and popped into the pocket as you walk to your next group. To my mind it is so much better than Diceolation or a related predecessor Badlands Box Dieluxe.  If you want a cool item to impress the boys at club Diceolation is fine, but if you actually want to perform it regularly, Mini Diceolation is the one to track down and use 🙂

Effect: A beautiful antique leather look box is shown by the performer. Spectator freely names any number from one to six. Box is then opened to reveal a beautiful smaller wooden box inside. The smaller box is opened by the spectator to reveal a die with their selected number facing upwards!

The boxes and die are now handed to a spectator for examination. The performer now secretly places the die back into the box and closes the lid. The spectator is now asked to select and name any number from 1 to 6. The performer now places the small box into the larger one and closes the lid. The spectator is now asked to think of the number that they selected.

Finally the small box is passed back to the spectator who is asked to open the lid and then to confirm that the number showing on top of the die again matches the one that they selected!

Everything is completely self-contained and the antique looking leather box blends in perfectly with the mysterious effect. The small box and die has been exclusively manufactured by Viking Magic and has the VH logo stamped on its base.
