I’ll Start Again by Jimmy Rogers, Alan Alan

Jimmy Rogers began working on this effect c. 1944, and after twenty years of honing the routine he released it to the world.  Harry Stanley released it c. 1964.  Supreme Magic Company also released their version called Blackboard Bat c. 1954.  Jimmy Rogers and Alan Alan later released it through Repro 71 c. 1976.

Effect: Here is two minutes of solid entertainment with a piece of Wood and a piece of Chalk. The Routine is both mysterious and funny and has caused a great deal of comment whenever performed by that popular London entertainer … Jimmy Rogers. The Routine has been devised and developed over a great number of years, and the experience gained during those years is incorporated in the manuscript (clearly written in the Magi-Tutor style) which we supply with the perfect apparatus. The Patter and “Bits of Business” which make I’ll Start Again a real gem, are also included.
