Effect: Magician shows a wooden tube and a die. The die is just slightly smaller than the tube.
He inserts the wooden rod through the tube sideways. He drops the die from the top; so, OF COURSE, it will stop right on the rod.
Now the rubber band is placed around the tube and rod. It’s completely impossible that the die could escape from the tube. The magician shows the die is trapped inside the tube while he shakes it up and down. It still does not escape.
Finally, the magician taps the rod and the die instantly penetrates through the rod and escapes from the other end.

Peter Chiang –
This trick uses a completely new and unusual method to achieve the penetration effect, but it suffers from significant angle issues. Whether intentional or not, the prop looks like a fragile and rough ‘craft’ that surprisingly allows it to pass the spectator’s inspection. Its appearance may be weak, but it’s surprisingly strong.
