Dean’s Triangle by Dean Dill
(c. 2007) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)I think it fair so say that this was Dean’s masterpiece, every aspect of the the prop and performance was thought out to perfection.
The routine is basically a four-phase Coins Through Table effect, and every move has been painstakingly thought through and the performance DVD by Dean himself takes you through all the steps. If only more manufacturers would follow through with this much attention to detail, we’d have a lot more great magic, and a lot less trash filling our shelves.
This effect is not self working, but it is certainly not difficult either, and when you spend this much on an item it is certainly worth spending a bit of time getting used to the routine. Once you have mastered the moves you will blow them away every time.
Effect: These are the 4 phases of the routine.
- Spectator holds three coins- Magician takes first coin from spectator and pushes it through the table top.
- Magician holds the two remaining coins above the table and one visibly melts away and falls right through the table top.
- The table frame is removed to show a clear surface. The third coin goes through the solid Plexiglas and joins the two coins that are resting in the bowl beneath. (after this phase pause to let everything sink in. Almost forcing them to ask you to do it again. Then go into the 4th phase.)
- Finally all three coins are placed on top of the glass and with absolutely no cover one of the three chosen coins melts through the glass.

What can I say that hasn’t been said or will be said
Note: Due to the high demand of this product there may be a waiting period…this says it quite well and there hasn’t been any broad media advertisement from Dean to date that I am aware. I was speechless when I finally received my Dean’s Triangle. I told someone who asked me about this item, "if I had to sell my collection and keep only a few pieces, Dean’s Triangle would be a keeper".
It’s that good (or great!), but, then, there is Doug Malloy manufacturing the Triangle table, Joe Porper supplying the leather storage case, Jamie Schoolcraft machining the beautiful special gaffs, and, of course, Dean Dill putting all this together into, simply, an amazing magical masterpiece. The quality of the props is undescribeable…you just have to see it in person to appreciate it. The routine is bewildering and not that difficult to master. I have never been this enthusiastic about coin magic, other than U3F.
This is the first Dean effect I have ever owned and what a beginning…I will clearly be watching all his future releases, not to mention, re-evaluate his current stuff.

George and Andy are right on the money. This is an incerdible piece of magic. The routine and the props are first class as are the 3 people invovled in the production. The Schoolcraft coins are, as always perfect. The table by Malloy Modern magic is perfection and the routine and DVD by Dean are a joy. Everything is explained perfectly and the DVD is very well edited. You are able to spend your time on presentation since all the props work so well.
Thank you to everyone involved. $750 is a fair price for what you get and you will never get more enjoyment out of anything you buy. You will floor people with this.

What else can you say that has already been written… INCREDIBLE…. I got my Triangle and Explosion the same day…. the craftmanship is amazing… the idea of the mini illusion is incredible…. best investment I have made in a while…. Dean was a pleasure to work with… Thanks again Dean

Wow! Dean’s real Miracle!
This is truly a miracle effect from Dean Dill. Not only is the effect in the miracle class, but the props are too!
When you drop down $750 for a trick it better be really, really good – but sadly it often is not. In this case however, you easily get your money’s worth. The table is beautiful and unique, the coins are flawless, and even the travel case is perfect.

Unique and astonishing
I am proud owner of Dean’s Triangle #1. I was privillaged to watch Dean develop this routine over a period of about 3 years. It started as a fun trick and ended up as a signature piece of magic that creates true astonishment.
The Prop is perfect. Rarely do coin magicians have large pretty props to jazz up a show, but this table is beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice. It is precision made by Doug Malloy, Joe Porper, and Dean Dill. The sneaky design features are undetectable and the spectator is welcome to examine it very closely.
Dean is a master of detail. every little thing has been thought out and perfected over years of constant design modifications. While this is not a knuckle buster, it does require good timing and smoothness. Dean is also a master of the moment and all the dirty work is done at precisely the right moment. There is no heat. Once you get comfortable with the pace, it’s easy to perform. (it will take practice)
Each coin penetration looks totally air and becomes more impossible with every phase. It is a 4 phase routine that builds to a wonderfully visual and impossible penetration that is visually awesome.
This is a fun routine to perform and it’s different from anything else on the market. I highly recommend Dean’s Triangle!
