Effect: Using a wooden slide, push three blank chips through a flat case. Only two of the chips come through the case to appear on the other side. Explain that the disappearance is due to the mysterious “Magic Formula” engraved in Chinese characters on both sides of the slide.

Now push the remaining two chips through the case. Each time the slide comes through the case but the chip is gone!

Now comes the highlight of the routine. First, the Chinese characters mysteriously disappear from the wooden slide. And then, the chips come back out of the case, but – unlike before – now they have Chinese Characters on both sides. The case is shown to be empty.
