In 1982 the amazing German Craftsman and Inventor, Thomas Pohle, began creating small batches of magic for the historic magic shop in Berlin: Conradi Horster. The owner at the time, Peter Uelsmann, sold small quantities of Thomas’ tricks and was keen to purchase more. So in 1984 Thomas started his own business. Eckhard Böttcher also started at the same time and so for many years Thomas built for Böttcher. In addition, he built for other retailers including: Kellerhof, Stolina, Bartl and a dealer in Austria Tony Reisner.
Well that was forty years ago and to celebrate creating and inventing beautiful magic for all these years Thomas has released a very special Box Set of which there will only ever be eight in the whole wide world 🙂
Thomas calls this very special box his Bling Bling Box and it is contains four unique items and this item is the second one to be released.
Don’t let the Bling fool you – this Color Die is a very finely crafted item, with amazing tolerances – the fact that Thomas gets three full changes out of this is quite amazing – where does he hide it all? This ones takes a little practice to make the transitions smooth – (I’m talking minutes not hours) – but it won’t be long before you are fooling yourself. Another really impressive effect for Thomas’ fortieth celebration. There is no doubt Thomas still has plenty of kick left in him 🙂
Effect: A very clean color change that happens three times. You begin by showing a white die and an beautiful and empty box. You place the die in the box and place on the lid. When you open the lid the top of the die is now red, and when you remove the die, all six sides are now read too!
Finally, you place the clearly red die back into the empty box and when you remove the lid it has change color again and now you have a multi-colored die to really wow them.
As Joe Long says: “One of the nicest color changing block effects I’ve ever seen – and the cabinet is pure eye candy.“
