Houdini’s Escape by Edwin’s Magic Arts

Effect: It’s amazing how many children are familiar with Houdini, yet there are very few effects available that feature him. This rare piece from Supreme Magic’s founder, Edwin Hooper is the exception. And it’s a fun and baffling effect.

A large card depicting the famous escape artist is placed into a jail cell where he remains in full view. Talking about how Houdini could walk through walls, the cell is covered briefly with a card depicting a brick wall. When uncovered, Houdini has vanished! The kids will scream when they think they know where he is, only to have the brick wall card turned over revealing a bold message. They’ll scream again when they see Houdini peeking out from behind a jail card as he makes his triumphant reappearance.

Props are very well made. Bold and colorful in the Supreme Magic tradition. The mechanical jail cell is solidly made from wood and metal. Size app. 8″ x 14″, large enough to be seen from stage.
