Technicolor Change by Nick Trost

(c. 1986,2005) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

From Nick Trost’s wonderful Card Magic of Nick Trost and Precursor X (January, 1986).

The inspiration for this effect came from a letter sent to Nick from Bill Miesel in which he described a trick that Father Paul Zipfel performed to win the close-up contest at the 1966 I.B.M. Convention in Indianapolis.

Effect: “Technicolor Change” appeared in Bill Miesel’s Precursor X (January, 1986) where Earle Oakes learned of it. Earle made it up and performed it 15 to 20 times a day over a two-day stint during a promotion in a large department store. Earle claims that it is a great display effect and found the reaction to be most satisfactory.
