Switch by Heirloom Workbench, Alakazam Magic

(c. 2020) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

This is the nicest quality of the full deck switching devices I have seen.  On Alakazam’s website it mentions this is based upon an Alexander De Cova idea without any other details (as is so often the case).    The box is almost identical to Peter Scarlett’s Pimpernel Card Box but I don’t have any reference for De Cova’s version.  The one big and useful difference is that Heirloom Workbench’s version handles Poker sized cards – whereas Scarlett’s only handled Bridge size.

If you have any information on the Alexander De Cova idea please contact me so that I can update my listing.

Effect: Heirloom Workshop is the home of a master craftsman right here in Kent. In conjunction with Alakazam Magic they are going to be creating some beautiful handmade props. The items they produce will be designed with the performer in mind but they will equally look fabulous in any collectors’ cabinet.

Switch is their first masterpiece.

An elegant antique looking box which holds a deck of cards and a small pad, this devious device will allow you to switch a deck super deceptively.

The external box made from solid sapele, with an Internal tray made from pine. Stained and waxed to give a beautiful antique appearance. The box is lined with vintage looking green baize and has antique style bronze coloured hinges.

Comes complete with easy to replace post-it note pad and magnetic catch.

The Switch has been designed to switch a poker sized deck so you can use your favorite brand.

Please note due to the fact that each Switch is handmade, aged and waxed we only receive between 6 and 12 units at a time. If we are out of stock please pre-order from the next batch to avoid disappointment.

* Based on the original Switching Device by Alexander De Cova and made with permission
