When you see the name Chris Wasshuber you probably think: Preserving Magic one book at a time! But Chris does other things in his spare time and one of those is perform miracles with 3D printers.
Shuber Vise: a clever name for a very clever device that combines a card guard and a card press all into one very compact unit. When compared with other card guards or presses these are quite expensive, but they work really well. Chris did not waste any time on cosmetic design features instead he focused all of his energy on creating the best combined card press and guard on the market and I think you can safely say: Mission accomplished 🙂
Effect: The Shuber Vise is a card guard that has a card press integrated. I always wanted to combine these two functions into one small enough accessory to fit into my pocket. The Shuber Vise does exactly that. It is not wider than a deck of cards and is only somewhat longer and thicker, yet it perfectly protects your cards and keeps them under pressure so that they do not warp or bend, which every deck of cards does after some use without being pressed flat. With decks that cost $20 and more these days, it pays to take good care of your cards.
If your deck is already warped and bent, no problem. Put it in the Shuber Vise for a night and they will come out flat and handle much better than before. Forget about those silly card presses with wing nuts and two sheets of plastic. They cannot provide an even and strong pressure. They are awkward and cumbersome to use. They don’t fit into your pocket.
