Professional Grade Svengali Deck by Steven Perry, Stevens Magic

Created by Burling Hull c. 1909 at the tender age of 15. Like so many magicians before me my very first magic effect was a Svengali Deck – it changed my world 🙂 I’ve just started using the Svengali Deck again recently thanks to a effect by Paul Curry.

These are made by Steven Perry who is a professional card mechanic and does an amazing job for just a few dollars more.  These are not bulk manufactured, each deck is made by hand with meticulous attention to quality control and precision.

If you need any sort of standard or custom gimmick deck I suggest you contact Stevens Magic and I’m confident you will switch too, I know personally I’ll never go back to the mass dealer ones 🙂

Effect: There are so many effects with the Svengali Deck and a good place to start is the trusty Encyclopedia of Card Tricks.  Here is the basic description of the Paul Curry effect I have just started to perform (unfortunately I have been unable to track down the source so far).

A deck is shown to be all different and the spectator chooses any card (force card).  The deck is cut and the cut is completed and then the cards are dealt into two piles.  The spectator freely chooses any pile and the chosen pile is shuffled and dealt again into two piles.  This is repeated until just one card is left.  Even though the spectator chooses precisely each time which pile to discard they always end up with their chosen card.
