There have been many versions of the Card Duck over the years. It was invented by Laurie Ireland and marketed by him as Otto, The Automaton Duck.
This is basically the same as Jack Hughes’ Fifi – The Card Pecker, with a different look. As far as I can ascertain this Card Goose was released first and then FiFi came out later. That being said I cannot find any explicit proof that this was created by Jack Hughes at all. It is very similar to his work so I’m going with it for now. Please let me know if you know different.
Effect: A Wonderful and friendly Card Pecking Goose! The Goose looks adorable and is made well and sturdy. The spring clip mechanism is certainly simpler in design than the type used by Warren Hamilton with his masterpiece Jo-Anne but it works well for single cards.
If you’re looking for a different looking duck that will have everyone fall in love with her, Mother Goose is the way to go!

A Wonderful and Friendly Card Picking Goose
Growing up in the UK I have always had a soft spot for Jack Hughes and over the years I have found myself drawn to his creations. This goose is a wonderful example of his great looking magic.
The Goose looks adorable and is made well and sturdy. The spring clip mechanism is certainly simpler in design than the type used by Warren Hamilton with his masterpiece Jo-Anne but it works well for single cards.
