Created by Richard Pinner c. 1998 as part of his act that won the title The Magic Circle Close Up Magician Of The Year.
Effect: A group of children you did a show for, or your own children, made you this very special pack of cards or maybe this was the first deck you owned. Anyway, once you have displayed this unique and charming deck of cards you use your magical powers to transform it in to a more traditional design.
This first transformation can take place on the participants hand.
Then you fix the whole deck and do some mindreading while you’re there. However, it seems a little cruel to ruin such a lovely gift so you turn the whole deck back to its former, if eclectic, glory.
The deck does all the work for you. It’s rough & smooth, short & long and marked! You just have to be there to sparkle during the trick and then take the credit at the end.
Each Kids Kards deck comes complete and ready to work. As you can see from the images, the artwork on the “kid” cards is charming – both the faces and backs have been custom printed and are perfectly in tune with the patter story of children designing a deck of cards. The trick is nearly self-working, and fans of visual card magic will not be disappointed with the cards. Each set of Kids Kards is supplied with a custom printed box and directions by inventor Richard Pinner.

Steve Thomas –
Kid’s Kards Kick!
I usually hate writing a review of a new item because if it’s a good effect and a good review, then EVERYBODY will go buy one. I’ll make an exception here. Ordered this from Elmwood Magic (their service is great, too) and absolutely love it. I’m a fan of the simpler things, and this, as you may have guessed is another incarnation of a Svengali Deck. The difference is…this one has a purpose and reason. The cuteness of the deck also adds a lot. The deck is shown as a hand-made pack of cards that a class/group of children made for you after you performed a show for them. You then (there’s a storyline) change it to a real (like a storebought) pack. You then do a brief mental effect, and since you feel bad about changing their handy work…you change it back to its original state. Nothing astounding about the effect, but the props and the story make the effect what it is. Now, that being said, DO NOT go buy one of these.
