Dr. Bill’s Impossible Stop Trick by Bill Nagler
(c. 1985) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)Effect: Dr. Bill Nagler came up with a winner here. Dr. Bill’s Impossible Stop Trick is just that.
A prediction is made (one single playing card is sealed in a pay envelope) and the spectator has a free choice of playing cards. Upon revealing his choice it is found that the performer has predicted his choice 100%. The method is quite clever. Cards are mixed and then dealt onto the table until the spectator calls ‘STOP’. That card is seen to match the prediction.
Consider this:
- Spectator is given a sealed envelope to put in his or her pocket.
- Spectator is handed a deck of cards, told to examine it, then shuffle it.
- Deck is handed back to magician, who, slowly and deliberately deals the cards down onto the table, one at a time.
- When the spectator wishes, he calls “Stop.”
- That card is turned over and the spectator is invited to open the sealed envelope he has been holding. The cards match.
Comes complete with detailed instructions and deck of Bicycle poker cards (blue backed only).
