Cut Off by Emerson and West

I could find nothing about this effect anywhere. I’m guessing the year based on the deck of cards.  The effect is easy enough to blunder through, but I don’t think it would be that easy to do well and be convincing.

Effect: A brisk demonstration of seemingly masterful ability at sleight-of-hand with a deck of cards. The performer quickly cuts to three of the aces in the order named by the spectator. Then in a truly startling climax, the spectator cuts to the fourth ace only to have the performer change the rest of the deck into all matching aces.

The Methods:
True to Emerson & West tradition, two methods of performance are offered. Arthur’s method is for those who prefer to accent the effect with a minimum use of sleights. Larry’s method is for those who prefer the use of sleight-of-hand to achieve an additional surprise. Please take your choice or perhaps blend your own handling by mixing from the two.
