Dobson’s Choice 1 by Wayne Dobson, Stephen Tucker

(c. 2002) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

Details: For any performer, professional or amateur, this book is (as Ken Brooke would have said) Gold Dust. The 13 tricks are superbly created and honed to perfection by Wayne himself during countless performances; on stage. cabaret, his TV series, TV guest appearances, close-up, lectures and social events.

Wayne’s choice of Stephen Tucker to put his thoughts and actions onto paper was truly inspired because each and every one of the 13 items is written with great clarity. Thanks in part to the two-column layout and intriguing balance between black, white and grey printing. The remarkable thing to me Is the total elimination of sleights to achieve the effects, without any loss of effect or entertainment.

Of the 13 Items there are 10 card tricks of Infinite variety, including one feature ‘stand up’ as used by Wayne over many years at top venues around the world. The three remaining items feature coins, ‘objects’ and borrowed ring.
