This is a beautiful looking brass container with a smooth moving dial. The method is based on the earlier Yot but The Vault makes a lot more sense. It is less like a puzzle, more versatile, more perplexing, and looks and feels so much better. The original idea is apparently in The Sphinx, but I was unable to track it down.
The secret is simple when you know with nothing added or taken away. The instructions provide four different ways to open the vault and you’ll find one or more that will fit your performance style.
Effect: The Vault is 12 ounces of precision-machined brass. It consists of a heavy canister and a combination dial lid. Even the combination dial is made of solid brass! The Vault will hold several coins or a finger ring, folded money or similar small items. Only those who know the diabolical secret can open The Vault!
Perform Bank Night and mentalism routines. Example: Four spectators pick from five folded pieces of paper. You get the last piece. The papers are exchanged as much as desired by the spectators. Finally, the papers are opened, revealing combination numbers. Everyone tries to open The Vault with their combination. The combination on your slip of paper is the only one that opens the lock!
There are many uses for this beautiful and clever prop. Completely mechanical and self-contained. Comes with the precision-made Vault, several routines and a cloth carrying bag.
