Fire Proof by El Duco’s Magic

This is a great effect created by El Duco c. 1979.  You do not have to use a cigarette to burn the hole but you could use a pencil or pen.  I found a fake cigarette that has a sharp tip which is perfect for the effect so I included that.

This is one of those effects you have to do to see how good it is.  The method is simple but very effective.  I think if you try this you will be very pleased with it.  You can even borrow a bill and everything can be examined at the end.

This effect was so popular it was “re-invented” by Supreme Magic as “Burn-Thru” c. 1984.  Looking at the advert it looks like Supreme made an almost exact copy of El Duco’s which pretty much rules out independent invention.

Effect: A borrowed bill is marked by a spectator. The bill is then placed in your wallet together with a piece of paper as an extra control measure. There is a hole right through the wallet and the spectator can watch the bill all the time.

You insert a burning cigarette into the hole and slowly THE CIGARETTE BURNS THROUGH PAPER AND BILL!!

This takes place before the very eyes of the spectator. After removing the cigarette and COMPLETELY UNDAMAGED!! But and wallet may be examined

THE WALLET: Is made of real opening the wallet the bill is found there is a hole in the paper. Bill right away. _ pigskin and provided with brass corners. This wallet you can use not only for the trick but also to keep your money in. The wallet is black and measures about 3×7″.

THE ROUTINE: contains detailed instruction and patter. The many illustrations will teach you the correct moves step by step. Thanks to an ingenious “something” this is easy to perform. A great effect in pocket size!
