Joe Long and Paul Lembo did an amazing job when they tackled this wonderful rare item created by Magiro c. 1996. It was originally called Glasklare Wanderung or Unglaubliche Wanderung (depending on where you read it in Magiro’s book) and was sold exclusively by Eckhard Boettcher in Germany. The effect has it all:
As shipped from Joe this comes with everything but the cover required to perform the magic (pretty much any piece of cardboard or heavier cloth can be used). When I was playing with this I realized a French flag would be perfect for this purpose. The flag has blue and red at the ends and so you can use it to not only cover the stand and glasses but also to remind the spectator where the red and blue silks are located. Believe me as you get older these mental cues are really helpful.
This is one of the best items that Joe has released and there are only 12 of them so these will certainly become more collectible over time. Great job Joe and Paul 🙂
Includes:
Effect: My basic routine using the flag is shown in the video.
Details from Joe Long: One of my favorite Magiro effects that was very difficult to find. In all my years of collecting, I’ve seen three for sale. Sold only in Germany decades ago by Eckhardt Boettcher and long unavailable. I’ve wanted to offer this in a Deluxe Limited Edition for many years – and it’s finally happened!
A sucker style routine in which red and blue silks placed into small clear cups on a stand “magically” jump back and forth when covered with a large cloth (or a card is placed in front blocking them from view).
The audience will be unimpressed – as they’ll assume you’re simply switching the cups on the tray.
For the surprise ending, each of the cups is covered by a larger clear glass. One of the glasses is decorated with red stripes to match the red silk inside – and the other with blue stripes – to match the blue silk.
Despite these test conditions – the silks still transpose!
Very deceptive. You need to experience it in person to appreciate the clever method.
The Improvements:
It’s a beautiful piece of apparatus – perfect for home or office – and of course – your shows. Complete with all props and silks. Use any cloth or card covering.
Only 12 were made, so please act quickly if interested in adding this unique Magiro creation to your collection.
