Galaxian by Stephen Tucker, Kaymar Magic
(c. 2019) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)Even though I normally don’t like gimmicked versions of Paul Curry’s “Out of This World” this deck is technically not gimmicked (it is simply a deck with a half red backs and half black backs) I do like Stephen Tucker’s thinking. This is probably more to fool magicians than something you would replace Out of This World to lay people because the premise is kind of strange – why are you dealing the cards face-up?
But it still has some merit and unlike many other versions I could see myself performing this one.
Effect: The ultimate ‘Out of This World’ with a shocking kicker finish!
Galaxian is an ingenious ‘Out of This World’ that is performed with the cards face up!
The spectator is handed the pack and is asked to separate the cards into two piles – one containing all red cards, and one containing all black cards.
When they open their eyes and check the packets, they have apparently failed, as both packets contain a mixture of red and black cards.
However…
You then reveal that actually, they HAVE separated the reds from the blacks… Just not in the way that they expected!
